About Me

Hi everyone.  My name is Kimie and I was a bride on a budget when I married my wonderfully sweet best friend, Emery. 

We planned, researched, and made as may things ourselves to make our special day a reality for under $5000.00!  With our families contributions we only spent $1905.00 out of pocket! 

I'm originally from the Washington, DC area, and so that is where we originally wanted to have our wedding at.  After looking at venues and comparing costs we decided to have it in Lynchburg, VA where we lived.  So, with a lot of hard work and some creativity we were able to pull it off.  

I love weddings, blogging, cooking, photography, drawing, and essentially anything crafty.  One of our favorite past times is packing a picnic and just spending time together.  

Although, I started this blog during the planning stages of our wedding I just don't have the heart to take it down.  I still love weddings, and hope that the information on here about other real weddings and everything else wedding will help another bride or two. :)
