Monday Money Saving Wedding Ideas - Invitations

Invitations can add up quick.

If you are like me, saving money is important. One way I've found is cutting costs on wedding invitations. Here's some ways I've found that could help cut some of the expense.

Even if you're not very artistic or crafty there are some things to consider.

  1. If you're getting your invitations printed from a professional shop, then consider using just black ink. You can always add color with ribbon bows tied at the top, or other embellishments. Black ink is usually included in the price, and color options will be additional cost.

  2. Add your reception information to the bottom of your invitation for no additional cost.

  3. Instead of having a RSVP card and return envelope you can do a RSVP post card. Printing and postage will both be less.

  4. Don't forget to ask for a discount. This may be something that is available, but not advertised. Also, if they want you're business they might be willing to take a little bit off just so you don't go elsewhere.

  5. Mailing out bigger invitation packets cost more in postage, so keeping the invitations, reply envelopes, RSVP card, etc. in mind. The more you send the more you pay at the post office.

  6. Make your own invitations. There are so many printable invitation kits available right now. Most you can purchase at a local craft store, and print on your own home computer.

  7. Scrapbook supplies offer a ton of great little stickers, paper stamps, sticky bling gemstones, and paper cutters to jazz up your invites.
